If you are about to buy a gift for someone chances are you have narrowed it down to two choices. Either chocolates or flowers because most of these are considered to be the “fail-safe” type of gift. Now, which one do you choose?
Going With the Flowers
Not everyone can eat chocolates, but everyone can enjoy the flowers. If this is the decision, then there are a few more things to think of. What type of flowers are you going to buy? If you are purchasing a gift with a budget in mind, there are plenty of flowers that are much cheaper than the more exotic ones.
Going With Chocolates
Although there may be a few people that would not appreciate chocolates, there are many that are made now with low fat. So for weight watchers, these may be a nice treat. Then for diabetics, there are chocolates on the market that have no sugar. Chocolates make a lovely gift for those who want to indulge a little.
The Benefits of Either Gift
There are some good reasons why either of these gifts have remained so popular over the years. There have been some studies done that indicate flowers can help reduce stress and anxiety. There are some that claim that chocolate has the ability to increase working memory and can help to stimulate dopamine which is the body’s happy hormone.
Delivery
If the gift recipient lives a long distance away, this may be something to keep in mind with regards to having the gift delivered. The flowers need to be kept in water, or they will arrive wilted. Chocolates are easier to send, but this can depend on the time of year. If the weather is hot, it can have an effect on the chocolate, especially if they have a high amount of cocoa in them.
